RIDE PVI

We’re committed to helping you get where you need to go safely.
If you need a ride from your home to Little House, the doctor or dentist, grocery stores, and pharmacies, call our transportation hotline number at 650-272-5040. We will arrange for a Lyft Driver to pick you up from your home within a few minutes. When you’re ready to return, call us back and we will get you a safe, comfortable ride home. No cell phone needed!

Lyft drivers are adhering to local Covid-19 standards to ensure the safety of both passengers and drivers, including requiring masks, sanitizing cars, and back seat rides.

A: At this time, Standard Lyft rates are charged for residents outside of the program area.

A: Monday – Friday  9:00am – 4:00pm

A:

Yes. If you need a ride outside the 9am – 4pm time frame, you may call the day ahead to schedule an earlier or later ride. However, staff is not available to monitor the ride.

A: Yes, If you are not ready leave when the driver arrives you will be charged the $4.oo ride fee. We ask that as soon as you request the ride you wait outside for your driver to arrive.

A: All riders must be able to get in and out of the car without assistance. However, the driver can help load any mobility devices the rider has, such as a cane, walker and wheelchair.

A: All drivers undergo background checks, DMV checks, and vehicle inspections. Each ride is monitored by a Little House Staff member to ensure you have been safely picked up and dropped off.

A: The subsidy is only available through Little House. If you request your own ride you will pay the full price.

A: It’s up to you. Tipping with cash is permitted but not required.

A: At this time the program is funded by the Sequoia Healthcare District, the County of San Mateo, AARP, and the City of Menlo Park.

Standard Subsidized Rides

Rides are available for $7.00 one way

Residents must reside in the following cities: Menlo Park, Redwood City, Portola Valley, Woodside, Atherton, Belmont, San Carlos. Travel (destination) boundaries are Palo Alto to the South and San Mateo/Foster to the North.

For a limited time, residents of East Palo Alto, Palo Alto and Mountain View are eligible for the subsidized rate. Travel (destination) boundaries are Mountain View to the North and Redwood City to the North

 Alternative Pay Option

County of San Mateo / Older Americans Act program

Available to residents of San Mateo County *

This no-cost program is available to adults who are 60+ who reside in San Mateo County (from East Palo Alto to South San Francisco and most of the Coast). These rides are partially funded by San Mateo County Aging and Adult Services and the Older Americans Act. There is no charge to you for these rides; however, a $7.00 suggested donation (or any amount) would be greatly appreciated to help support the program.

Travel is limited to a 5- mile radius of your residence within the County (* Service is not available from areas south of Half Moon Bay due to unavailability of Lyft/Uber drivers)

If rider wants to exceed the 5-mile radius, the full carrier rate +10% admin. fee will apply.

Credit card is the preferred method of payment, but monthly invoices are also available.

 

Residents of Palo Alto, Mountain View, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara

This no-cost program is available to adults who are 60+). These rides are partially funded by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge to you for these rides; however, a $7.00 suggested donation (or any amount) would be greatly appreciated to help support the program.
