Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. Receives $10,000 grant from Kaiser Permanente

Menlo Park, CA – June, 2019:  Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. (PVI) is pleased to announce that it has received a $10,000 grant from the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region, San Mateo area. This grant is to further assist PVI’s ability to support aging in place through its nutrition and physical activity programs.  This project is supported by Kaiser Permanente Northern California Community Benefit Programs.

“This funding from Kaiser Permanente is essential to our ability to increase access to fitness and active living programs at Little House, the Roslyn G. Activity Center and to increase access to food security and nutritional literacy for senior homebound adults through our Meals on Wheels program ” said Peter Olson, CEO of Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. “We’re grateful that Kaiser Permanente is recognizing and investing in these crucial services as the need is growing each and every year.”

“Kaiser Permanente is thrilled to partner with local organizations that are improving our community’s health and wellness on a daily basis,” said a representative of KFH Northern California Community Benefit Programs Division. “We want to recognize PVI’s active living and Meals on Wheels programs for the work they do to provide access to needed health services.”

Kaiser Foundation Hospitals’ Northern California Community Benefit Programs, Community Grants Program is just one example of how KFH invests for the benefit of community health and wellness. The Board annually identifies local health priorities, solicits grant applications from community organizations addressing those priorities, and awards grant funding to support their work and outreach.
